Delete your Instagram data.

You can remove everything Somie received from Instagram at any time, and keep the rest of your Somie account. There are three ways to do it.

From Instagram

  1. In Instagram, open Settings and activity.
  2. Open Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
  3. Find Somie under Active, choose Remove, and confirm.
  4. If Instagram offers to send Somie a request to delete your data, accept it.

Removing Somie disconnects it straight away: syncing stops, and Somie deletes everything listed below, including the stored access token and your saved account insights. A deletion request does the same, and Instagram also gives you a confirmation code and a page where you can check the status of the request.

From Somie

Sign in, open Accounts, and choose Disconnect on your Instagram account. Somie stops syncing straight away and deletes the stored access token and your saved account insights.

By email

Email support@somiesocial.com from the address on your Somie account and include your Instagram username. We will verify it is you, delete the data within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

  • The Instagram connection itself, including the access token
  • Your Instagram username, follower count and engagement rate on Somie
  • Account insights and audience demographics saved from your Instagram account

What is kept, and why

  • Posts you already sent for an offer: the link to the post and the numbers recorded for it. They are part of the record of an offer you completed with a business. Deleting your Somie account removes them; see how account deletion works.
  • A record of the deletion request, with its date and confirmation code, so we can show that it was completed.
